Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger backed the Premier League’s decision to close the transfer window before the new season starts.

How long the transfer window is probably is irrelevant to Arsenal’s business — they would remain same old Arsenal.

The latest transfer market, which closed at the end of last month, saw Arsenal get only one major signing in France striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Indeed, Lacazette is at Emirates Stadium only because he could not join Atletico Madrid who are banned from buying players. Changes are needed at Arsenal for them to become genuine contenders again.
