Acquitted: For the second time of helping an alleged red-shirt bombing plot, Amporn “Khru Khaek” Jaikorn. The court said there was no evidence the Chiang Mai native was involved in a bomb that exploded in Bangkok in 2010. The Criminal Court earlier made the same ruling about prosecutorial incompetence in charges Ms Amporn helped the 2010 bombing of a Nonthaburi apartment that killed four and wounded nine.
Indicted: By the Chon Buri provincial prosecutor on murder and weapons charges, Suthep Pochanasomboon. The 50-year-old engineer last Feb 4 shot and killed a 17-yearold in a car park dispute that was caught on video. He said a group of teens threatened him and he fired in self-defence. The prosecutor laughed at that and charged him with premeditated murder.
Extradited: To Australia to face investigation over the “troubled” IT company TZ Ltd, Australian national John Falconer. A former executive with the controversial gold-mining firm Kingsgate (Akara Resources), Mr Falconer, 68, has already been under investigation for seven years. The Australian Supreme Court in 2010 said he must face serious allegations involving large sums.
Begun: On Sept 4, a 10-year search for Vorayuth “Catch Me If You Can” Yoovidhya. If he continues his jet-setting life until 2027, he will escape all homicide charges in the “accident” in which his million-dollar Ferrari struck, dragged and killed a Thong Lor traffic policeman. Police and prosecutors, who absolutely have never been corrupted in any form by the multi-billionaire family, have pledged to continue the manhunt with the same diligence they have shown since 2012.
