Sept 22 at 6pm and Sept 23 at 4pm The “White Castle Music Festival 2017” will return with a top-notch specialise­d line-up of progressiv­e music artists which includes Tom Staar, Marnik, Holl & Rush and Jaggs, today. They will perform backto-back, blending with majestic production­s, lighting, sound and the signature stage design under the “White Castle” theme. The festival is accompanie­d by the “Life In Colour” paint party which will take place on the same ground tomorrow. Thailand Philharmon­ic Orchestra will close its 12th orchestral season with the “Ode To Joy” concert featuring a pairing of perhaps the most famous symphonic piece ever written, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Moscheles’ Double Concerto For Flute, Oboe And Orchestra.

Two brilliant European virtuosos, flutist Giuseppe Nova and oboist Christoph Hartmann, will return to perform the lovely mini-concerto for two instrument­s by Moscheles.

However, every decision of the audience effects the scenes on stage, so the performanc­e will be fresh and different each night. SPORTS Run for sea turtles

The “Mai Khao Turtle Fun Run Across The Sea And Mini Marathon 2017” features three distances — a 2.5km family run, a 5.3km fun run and a 10.2km mini marathon. The route will encompass the surroundin­g beauty of Had Sai Kaew beach, Ban Ta Chat Chai and the village. The mini-marathon will run across the iconic Sarasin Bridge to Phangnga province back and forth. The first five finishers of both the 5.3km fun run and 10.2km mini-marathon will receive trophies and cash prizes. All runners who can make it to the finish line will receive a medal. Siriraj Hospital’s Siriraj Stroke Center and Thaicom Foundation invite interested people to enter the 3rd “Guiding Light For All Thais: Walk Run Ride Fighting Stroke” activity held to mark HM King Maha Vajiralong­korn Bodindrade­bayavarang­kun’s 65th birthday and to raise awareness on strokes. The race has three categories — a 4.7km walk, a 10.5km run and a 30km bike ride. The race will start from Jor Por Ror Intersecti­on on Ratchadamn­oen Nok Avenue and finish at Siriraj Piyamahara­jkarun Hospital. Everyone who can make it to the finish line will receive a medal. A similar race will also take place at many other hospitals nationwide on the same day.

Interested people with creative ideas to turn vetiver grass into chic items are invited to enter “100 Design 2017: Vetiver Design Contest” to vie for cash prizes worth more than 400,000 baht. They can enter as teams of no more than three members and are free to design either home decoration­s or fashion items using vetiver as a major component of no less than 70%. Each team must submit three sketches of their design and 10 successful teams will be granted 10,000 baht each to turn their designs into real products. Young talented singers

The second season of the hugely successful “RBSO Search For Talent Vocal Competitio­n” is open to young singers of any nationalit­y aged between eight and 16 years. They are free to post on YouTube individual songs from the Broadway/ West End/Hollywood musical theatre repertoire, songs from cartoon features, or jazz numbers directly associated with a particular musical or show. One contestant can submit only one song. Thirty top candidates will be chosen for the live performanc­e round in front of a judging panel on Nov 11. Four winners will perform with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra during the annual “Concert in the Park” series at Lumpini Park.
