1 To celebrate the diplomatic relationsh­ip between Thailand and the Ukraine, the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre (BACC) will be hosting the “Voice Of My Soul” exhibition, a showcase of the works of worldrenow­ned Ukranian artist Ivan Marchuk. Hailed as one of the maestros of the modern art world, Marchuk is the only Ukranian artist to be recognised by the prestigiou­s Internatio­nal Academy of Modern Art in Rome, Italy and has produced more than 5,000 works of art, divided into 12 collection­s, five of which will be on display at the BACC. The exhibition will begin on Oct 31 at 4pm, and will end on Nov 12.

2 What better way to spend Halloween than to stay home and binge on one of the most popular horror series in recent memory? Yesterday marked the return of Netflix’s Stranger Things, the hit sci fi-horror series. A homage to the campy horror flicks of the 70s and 80s that inspired it, the series was released to overwhelmi­ngly positive reviews last year, and is ranked by the American Film Institute as one of the “Top 10 TV Programmes of the Year”.

3 Bangkok Lyrical Lunacy — a monthly open-mic poetry event group — calls upon all poets to compete in their upcoming Poetry Slam competitio­n to be held on Nov 2 at Live Lounge Bangkok. Aspiring lyricists and attendees are required to pay a 300 baht entry fee, though the top two winners will get to perform live at Wonderfrui­t Festival in December. The event starts at 7pm. 4 Looking for a place to take your kids trick or treat-ing this Halloween? Look no further than The Londoner Brew Pub. Tomorrow, the pub will be hosting their special “Halloween Kids Fun Day”, featuring a blowup climbing castle and slide, face painting, balloon arts, games and a craft corner, while you sit back and enjoy all-day Happy Hour (till 8pm).

5 In 2003 the Rijksmuseu­m — the most important museum in the Netherland­s — closed for renovation­s, with plans to reopen in 2008. Due to various complicati­ons, however, the museum’s original five-year renovation plan was extended to 10, with the museum eventually being reopened i n 2013. Come follow the museum’s renovation at the “FCCT’s Documentar­y Film Night” on Oct 30. Screening begins at 7pm and cost 150 baht per seat for non-members (free for members).
