BOOK EXPO (Queen Sirikit National Convention Center,

Ratchadaph­isek Road, 10am-9pm, until tomorrow) The “Book Expo Thailand 2017” features special prices on countless books of all genres from almost 400 publishers throughout more than 900 booths, plus dozens of activities. There also is a photo exhibition in remembranc­e of King Bhumibol, an exhibition titled “100 Annual Book And Cover Design 2017”, sales of souvenirs and special collection­s of postage stamps, and many other activities. SWEET BAKERY (Fashion Island, Ram Intra Road, 11am-8pm,

until tomorrow) The “Sweet & Bakery Festival 2017” features delectable desserts from over 30 leading shops and bakeries including After You, BakeSmith, Pancake Cafe, Melt Me, Larnahouse, Go Mango, Rosemary, Pung Siam, Emack & Bolio’s and Café de Tu. Several promotions are offered, including selections of dessert with prices starting at 29 baht on weekends at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm; a buy one get one free on weekdays from noon-4pm; and a compliment­ary pass to a cookie workshop for every 200 baht spent at the fair. 6pm, until Oct 31) The “Agora Farmers Market” features more than 200 items of organic and natural products that are certified chemical free by world standards at reasonable prices. The products include rice, cereals, processed products, seasonal produce and safe products for children. There are also health care activities, an exhibition on “Sustainabl­e Developmen­t In Daily Life” by local and internatio­nal photograph­ers, as well as a music performanc­e featuring King Rama IX’s royal compositio­ns every Saturday at 11am.
