ZOL FAMILY SPLIT, ACTOR ‘LEFT TO DIE’, CHAKRIT TIES KNOT

Maternity room reunion goes wrong

The parents of a former Channel 7 actress who absconded from the family home with her boyfriend nine months ago and secretly gave birth have cut the actress out of their lives after a family row at the hospital.

Mukda Boonthong and her husband, veteran actor Nukkid “Neung” Boonthong, dramatically severed ties with their daughter, actress Panthothong “Gunjaezol” Boonthong, last week after a family reunion in her maternity room turned bitter.

The actress, also known as Zol, met her family at Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital by chance on Nov 3 after her mother received a premonition she had given birth and would find her there. It was their first meeting in nine months.

Zol had yet to contact the family since leaving home in a huff with her boyfriend, airline captain and former air force officer Chanat “Nat” Lertpattanathai.

Nurses confirmed Zol gave birth to a baby boy, named Take Off, two days before, and let Mrs Mukda into her room.

Mrs Mukda said their daughter was initially delighted to see them and apologised for running away from home. The family also met Nat, who turned up later. No angry words were exchanged, though Nat failed to apologise for taking their daughter out of their lives.

Things appeared to be going well enough until last Tuesday when the family turned up at the hospital again. This time Nat’s parents were also present, and Zol’s two younger sisters, who had turned up with clothes and other gifts for Take Off, were taking pictures with him.

“Nat strode into the room and shouted at us. He took back the child and told the girls to stop taking pictures. We asked why we can’t play with our own grandchild, and things escalated from there,” Neung said.

The two sides exchanged angry words including claims, which Zol’s parents deny, that they demanded a dowry of 20 million baht.

Neung said he was shocked to discover Nat and Zol had secretly married. He said Nat ordered four or five military police to stop them gaining further entry to their daughter’s room. “Zol kept playing with Nong Take Off, as if nothing had happened, while we were left wondering if we would have to consult a lawyer,” Neung said angrily.

After waiting in vain for two hours, Mrs Mukda penned her a letter, which she left with a nurse, asking Zol to change her surname if she wasn’t prepared to be their daughter any more. Zol replied telling them they could do nothing under the law and were stupid for meddling.

Speaking later, Neung said his family had decided to sever ties with Zol as they didn’t want a person with such “bad blood” in their lives. Declaring Nat had brainwashed their daughter, Mrs Mukda urged Zol to see a psychiatrist.

“Her younger sisters are crushed. They loved that little boy, bought him gifts and visited at her invitation,” she said.

“Zol thinks we are biased against Nat and too strict with her. If we were too controlling, would she have had sex before marriage?”

Zol and Nat have yet to comment.

Kitti found abandoned at home

Actor Ekkapan “Tide” Bunluerit is appealing for public donations as he nurses back to health veteran actor Kitti Klinkliang, 67, whom he found abandoned in his Nonthaburi home amid a pile of rubbish.

Tide, head of volunteers for the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, took a team of his workers to Kitti’s two-storey home in the province’s Sai Noi district on Nov 5 after hearing Kitti, also known as Kitti Datsakorn, was unwell and needed help.

He found the actor upstairs lying amid a pile of rubbish including rotting food, used adult nappies and old clothes.

Kitti, who looked delighted to see him, said he had a car accident in late September which left him barely able to walk. His diabetes and blood pressure had also flared up with the result he was unable to help himself.

Tide said he also found a child, aged three, in the house with an open wound to his leg. Ten minutes later, a young woman arrived who identified herself as Kitti’s relative. Sasiprapa “Kitty” Datsakorn , 28, said her mother had asked her to take care of Kitti while he was unwell.

Questioned more closely, Kitty changed her story to admit she was Kitti’s former wife.

She and Kitti had split up two years ago but had met up again recently. They had two children together, the boy aged three and a girl aged 10.

Kitty said she was in the car when Kitti had his accident. His diabetes had affected his eyesight and he drove into a neighbour’s fence and then a canal. She insisted she had been caring for him since, though did not sleep in the same room and was not there every night.

Tide, whose team brought in the village headman to help as they cleaned Kitti’s house of rubbish and bought him new furniture and supplies, sent Kitti and the child to a local hospital.

Netizens were shocked by Kitti’s plight after Tide and his team published pictures of the veteran actor as they found him in the house, “lying there waiting to die”, as some put it.

As netizens rounded on Kitty for failing to take better care of the actor, media reports unearthed an appeal which Kitty made on social media last month in which she referred to Kitti as “Papa” and sought public donations to help pay for his care.

On Friday Tide laid a complaint with local police after discovering Kitty had quietly withdrawn 80,000 baht in donations from Kitti’s bank account after taking his ATM card for “safe keeping”. In a TV interview just days before, she denied taking money from the account.

In response, Kitty told police she had withdrawn the money to pay off a personal debt to an internet friend. Inquiries are continuing.

Asked in the TV interview about the rubbish at Kitti’s house, the young woman said it was there when she arrived. Asked why she did not take him for physical therapy, she said Kitti was too heavy.

A day before the police complaint, Kitty published images of a lavish home in Hua Hin which she said belongs to her mother to counter claims she had ulterior motives in calling for donations.

Tide and his twin brother, actor Bin, meanwhile, gave Kitti 30,000 baht to help pay for his care and look after the children. They also opened a new account to appeal for public donations, this time without Kitty’s help.

Simple wedding for actor

Actor Chakrit Yamnarm has tied the knot a second time, opting for a simple wedding in his bride’s home province of Chanthaburi before a small crowd of family and friends last week.

Chakrit, 39, went before the media on Monday to confirm plans to wed Pattira “Ann” Roongroj, 37, after the pair met a year or so ago on the set of a soap opera. He also confirmed Ann was pregnant and said he was looking forward to being a dad.

Denying reports Ann was superwealthy, he said her mother is a retired doctor and her father runs an orchard.

Later that night he travelled to the province for a single’s party, to which Ann was invited, and the next day the couple were married in a simple ceremony. Guests took home with them a choice of fruit from the orchard run by Ann’s dad.

Chakrit said he was delighted to hear last month that Ann was pregnant with twins, and promptly went to see her parents to pay his respects.

“I have wanted a family since I was a teen, so was over the moon,” he said. “I also decided to start a family to cheer up my mother, who is unwell.”

The couple later suffered a setback when an ultrasound scan showed she had lost one of the eggs. “I vowed I would look after the other one as best we can,” he said in tears.

“Ann apologised for not taking good enough care of herself, but I said it wasn’t anyone’s fault and we would get through it together.”

Media shots from the wedding showed Ann, in tears, prostrating herself before Chakrit’s mother, who was in a wheelchair. Speaking to their guests, she paid a simple tribute to her new husband.

“It’s as if the skies decided we should meet. In the course of one day I ended up with both a husband and a child at the same time!” she said.
