BRITISH HELP FOR THAI CHARITIES
The British community’s annual fund-raising blockbuster event, the Phloenchit Fair Diamond Jubilee, will take place at Bangkok Patana School, Sukhumvit 105 (Soi La Salle), on Saturday, from 10am-8pm.
Hailed as one of the biggest events of the social calendar in the Kingdom, this year’s event is special, as it will mark the fair’s diamond jubilee, with activities and attractions for all ages.
There will be live stage entertainment throughout the afternoon, international food and drink by some of the best bars and restaurants in Bangkok, and many games, rides and competitions for kids and adults, including a shooting gallery, bungee jump, water roller ball, hands-spin boats, giant slide, golf and coconut shy. Again, the Petticoat Land Bazaar will feature fabulous bargains by 70 vendors who will be offering beautiful handicrafts, home wares, clothing, accessories, books and jewellery, as well as gift-sets and hampers at special prices. The grand raffle will come with thousands of prizes.
The traditional British fairground-themed event is supported by the international and Thai communities in Bangkok, with many companies donating funds and goods used for prizes at the fair. The money raised will support Thai charities under the British Community in Thailand for the Needy (BCTFN) foundation, which, up to this year, has raised more than 60 million baht to assist worthy causes.
Tickets cost 150 baht (50 for children). All-day rides tickets will be available at special prices. There will also be a free shuttle-bus service from BTS Bang Na to the fair venue.
