CADET'S FINAL DAYS
Pakapong Tanyakan, a cadet at the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, died suddenly after studying at the institute for six months. His father, Pichet, relayed to the media some of his son's final comments while the Royal Thai Armed Forces attempted to clarify what happened to him.
Aug 23: WHAT THE FATHER SAYS
Pakapong is hospitalised after allegedly being punished by a third-year student who told him that he was walking in a way only permitted for senior students. He is punished twice at around 8pm and 10pm
- As punishment, Pakapong is instructed to put his head on the floor and jump on alternate legs

Pakapong phones his father to say he fell off a ladder
Oct 12:
Pakapong is allowed to return home
Oct 15:
He returns to school
Oct 16:
A student calls Mr Pichet to explain that Pakapong has been hospitalised again after he was allegedly punished until he lost consciousness.
Oct 17:
Pakapong is pronounced dead at the hospital of cardiac arrest
WHAT THE ARMED FORCES SAY
Pakapong had no health problems but he occasionally became ill

During a routine military group practice, Pakapong faints and is sent to a medical unit
Oct 17
Pakapong returns to his battalion to pack his belongings and then makes his way back to the medical unit for rehabilitation. On the way there he faints again but recovers consciousness
He calls his parents in the afternoon but later shows signs of stress and loses consciousness. The medical unit dispatches him to a proper hospital where he is later pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest
