Things Bangkokians Should be Thankful For

-

Yes, I know Thanksgiving was yesterday. But who’s to say being thankful should be limited to just one day. If you look hard enough, you’ll see that busy Bangkok is filled with many little things to feel grateful for. While your body is still digesting that Thanksgiving feast, here are some examples that’ll be sure to give you a little pick-me-up.

Get saluted by a security guard even if you go into the building just to do a number one.

Food is everywhere — wandering hawkers, street side vendors, inside 24/7 convenience stores etc. You can eat moo ping on the street before your dinner at a rooftop restaurant too.

The wires are going underground on all the major roads of Bangkok. Finally, Bangkok’s footpaths will become wireless. The next step: fixing loose pavement tiles please.

All the street dogs you could ever wish for are there on the streets and sitting in front of 7-Eleven for your every petting need.

P’ Mor-sais are the knights in shining orange vests who will be there to save you from being late for an appointment.

All the Xmas decorations at major buildings and malls. Plenty of free selfie ops, obvi.

You don’t have to be on time for the movies. Be 20 minutes late to skip all the ads and trailers.

The fact that we don’t have to pay extra for plastic bags when we shop. Well, this is bad for the environment, so refuse it if you don’t really need one.
