Thailand Tourism Festival returns to Lumpini Park

-

The long-anticipated “Thailand Tourism Festival” will return to Lumpini Park in Bangkok to once again present the country’s fascinating attractions, from Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 10pm.

Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the 38th edition of the festival is an opportunity for travel enthusiasts to explore the local experiences presented from each part of the Kingdom, in terms of tourist spots, art and culture, and food, right on the same ground.

The festival is divided into 10 zones, the first of which will get visitors to learn about the art and science of the late King Bhumibol. Called “Follow In The King’s Footsteps”, this zone is set up in front of the statue of King Rama VI, located at the park’s main gate on Rama IV.

The second zone will introduce a variety of domestic travel products and travel programmes to the 12 recommended destinations while the third zone is spacious as it will accommodate five villages that portray the way of life of people in each region of Thailand.

Featured will be outstanding products from the hilltribes and other communities as well as craft workshops from the North; Isan cuisine and cultural and religious tourism from the Northeast; a fun temple fair, a traditional Thai house and handicraft workshops from the central region; a replica of a cruise ship with outdoor activities and coastal delicacies from the East; and the atmosphere of the preserved old towns and a thriving food culture from the South.

The fourth zone will gather unique culinary delights from Bangkok’s 50 districts and the country’s five regions, plus cooking demonstrations. The fifth zone is the main stage that will present a variety of Thai cultural and contemporary performances from leading Thai artists and celebrities.

The sixth zone will show the work of TAT and its new promotional campaign, Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018; the seventh zone will come with outdoor adventure tourism and a range of food trucks serving tasty treats; and the eight zone will feature fascinating products and activities that won the Thailand Tourism Awards.

There will also be the “Trash To Treasure” activity held to raise awareness on environment conservation in the ninth zone while the last zone is reserved for the activities presented by 12 related organisations that officially support this festival.
