LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE OF THAILAND’S ENERGY CHALLENGES

What will Thailand’s energy landscape be like in 2050? How will mega-cities, such as Bangkok, handle growing energy demands and mobility challenges in the future? To address these important issues, Shell Thailand is holding Make the Future Thailand at EmQuartier’s Quartier Gallery from Jan 19-21, starting at 2pm.

Held to provide an opportunit­y for visitors to experience aspects of a future world and witness how we can achieve a sustainabl­e future, this exhibition will feature innovation­s in energy, technology, mobility and futuristic cars, together with the direction of energy-utilisatio­n in 2050 to cope with future energy challenges.

It will include “Thailand’s Energy Challenge And Bangkok 2050: Container Of Possibilit­y”, the country’s first showcase of future technology and innovation­s for the home; a race car powered by salt water; and the latest 14 Eco-marathon vehicles designed by university students, who will be competing with teams from 18 Asian countries during the Shell Eco-marathon Asia competitio­n to be held in Singapore in March.

There will also be presentati­ons from the Imagine the Future competitio­n by student teams from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Chiang Mai University and Assumption University.

Rounding out the programme on each day will be a mini-concert headlined by popular artists including Naphat “Nine” Siangsombo­on on Jan 19, Tim&Kim from The Voice Kids on Jan 20 and BNK48 on Jan 21.
