Winners named in TCELS competition
Brain Dynamics and MEID were the two winning teams in the “TCELS Life Science & MedTech Acceleration Program 2017”.
The programme was hosted by the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) in collaboration with Expara.
Chairat Sangchan, deputy director of TCELS, said the programme searched for and selected potential startups, welcoming researchers and students performing work related to medical equipment and robots, cosmetics and healthcare.
Some 32 applicants applied and 10 finalists were selected to attend a three-month business training programme.
Brain Dynamics has pioneered a new communication method capable of reading and interpreting a person’s brain signals, allowing them to communicate in a novel way.
MEID is a cloud-based healthcare information platform that can be accessed anywhere using wristbands, stickers and other products as keys for access.
Douglas Keith Abrams, founder and director of Expara Thailand Co, a specialist in incubation and venture capital, said promoting and supporting life sciences startups in Thailand is a great starting point, as they have potential to develop industryrelevant products and services.
Thailand has the potential to become a medical hub in Asia, Mr Abrams said.
