In a bid to focus more on online business, BEC-Tero Entertainment has introduced an online self-learning piano course to attract an audience nationwide.

The entertainment company has banked on Playground Sessions, a globally known online piano course from the US.

Choakchai Eaimrittikrai, group director of online business for BEC-Tero, said the company will offer the online piano course as the exclusive marketing distributor for Southeast Asia.

He said partnering with Playground Sessions will leverage Thailand’s music-learning industry and provide a great opportunity for Thais to access music courses.

The company aims to expand the online music courses to Myanmar and Indonesia this year after debuting in Thailand.

BEC-Tero expects to have at least 10,000 users sign up for the course within three years.

Mr Choakchai refused to talk about revenue projection, saying instead the course will create a new platform for Thais.

“I want to expand the music course market across Thailand and create a new online business,” he said.

BEC-Tero’s main focus will remain TV programme production, entertainment and event management, said Mr Choakchai.

He said BEC-Tero Music Course will be a good option for music lovers who want to enjoy music lessons and advanced technology.

Playground Sessions’ self-learning software was developed by Chris Vance, its chief executive. The company is a renowned music brand in the US.

The software is a mixture of music lessons and music stimulation games providing piano lessons in both Thai and English.

The software was co-created with musical genius Quincy Jones, the most-nominated Grammy artist whose long list of production credits includes Michael Jackson’s

Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad albums as well as We Are The World.

Saksit Vejsupaporn, Thailand’s most famous pianist and the brand ambassador for the BEC-Tero Music Course, said he hopes the software will help Thais get closer to the joy of music by not just listening to music, watching music videos or attending concerts, but also being able to enjoy playing their favourite songs by themselves on the piano.
