Nong Nat keeps busy

Sexy model and actress Kesarin “Nat” Chaichalermpol is playing down her ties to Panthongtae “Oak” Shinawatra, son of the former prime minister, saying the two are merely friends.

Nat’s interest in Oak was the talk of the town last week, though she was keen to distance him from the fuss, saying she and Oak have known each other 10 years, which is “too long to be a boyfriend or a fling”.

Her relationship with Oak, who is in the news as he battles a money-laundering case, emerged after the two exchanged friendly comments on social media.

“We talk constantly, but I don’t want to add to his problems. The fact we know each other is not a big deal. We met through friends,” she said.

By the end of the week, Nat, 33, a former porn actress, had come up with a double diversion from the Oak romance story. First, she posted news of a Vietnamese model she had met, and later told journalists that her well publicised marriage to an American sugar daddy had ended without the two ever having sex.

Posting about the unnamed Vietnamese model, she wrote: “This little child isn’t willing to sleep ... she calls pleading with me all the time. She is just 24, we are apart in age by nine years. I never thought I would start seeing a girl as cute and pretty as this one.

“She entered my life at a time I needed someone. From here on I might have to save money and fly to see her every month.”

The post surprised her fans, who didn’t know Nat had started seeing women. Digging through her old IG posts, one news outlet said Nat had met the Vietnamese model only a short time before. “The post may be intended as a diversion from the Oak rumour,” it said.

Later, Nat revealed the elderly American millionaire she had married six years ago, Harold Nesland, 72, had now asked for a divorce.

As she waits for that to come through, she has started seeing a Thai medical doctor. They argue often, she said, as both are possessive types, and she is in the news with other men.

First, about her husband: “We have never slept together, as I regarded him more like an uncle. Even if he asked for a hug, I wouldn’t feel right,” she said.

“We live in different countries. For the first four to five years, he sent me 100,000 baht a month, as he believed it was his job to look after me. However, he has four adult children and now grandkids, so when I didn’t need the money I told him he could send me less.

“We weren’t together as husband and wife, but I was like his supporter from behind the scenes. I haven’t asked for anything as a settlement, as we merely registered our marriage. Any assets I own, I bought myself.”

Nat said they had talked about having kids through assisted reproductive technology, and that idea appealed. However, when her husband had a vasectomy reversed in the hope of having children with her the natural way, she went off the idea.

“I can’t stomach the idea of sleeping with him. If we were together and had to sleep in the same room, I would take the sofa, and slip on to the other side of the bed once he was asleep.” She hasn’t seen her husband in more than a year.

Overseas media wrote up her pending divorce last week, with the Daily Mail headlining it: “Thai porn star Nong Nat gets a divorce and plans a boob job to make a career comeback.”

Nat, who recently landed an acting job in a sexy movie, said she was now seeing a doctor, and couldn’t tell how far that would go romantically.

“I told my husband about him, and we haven’t been anywhere in public, as I don’t want to hurt his feelings,” she said.

Meanwhile, she denied critics’ claims she was trying to up her status by chatting to Oak Shinawatra, saying she knows people from a range of backgrounds, not just models.

As for speculation they must have had sex by now, she said: “You don’t have to have sex with someone just because you know him. I would enjoy much better social status if I was that kind of woman. In fact, I choose who I have sex with.”

Rocker talks up chances

Rocker Sek Loso is putting his best foot forward ahead of a court decision on his high profile firearms case which he hopes will result in a non-custodial sentence.

Sek, who visited probation officials in Nakhon Si Thammarat last week as the provincial court prepares to deliver judgement this Thursday, said he could see little chance of the court sending him to jail, as people have escaped prison for much worse.

“I am not worried about the case, as the court must know that I can be of more use to society outside jail,” he said.

“Thai jails are already full. What is the purpose of putting me behind bars? Who will sing my songs for you to hear?

“I was just shooting into the air to redeem a vow. Even for murder cases, they give suspects bail. So I am happy to let society decide how bad my offence really was.” Sek is charged with unauthorised possession of a firearm, carrying it illegally and firing shots in public. He fired a handgun in front of the statue of King Taksin the Great at Wat Khao Khun Phanom in the province on Dec 29 shortly after playing a concert there.

The rocker said he fired off the shots to redeem a vow before the statue’s spirit, to whom he had entrusted the care of his son. “So I don’t think what I was doing was wrong or extreme. Nor was I worried I could hit anyone, as I fired towards the mountain, and I did it at night.”

Sek said he told probation officials about good works he has performed, and stressed he was a responsible family man. In the days following his probation visit, he released statements showing how much he pays for the education of his children.

“I don’t present my record in the hope my good deeds will expunge the bad ones, as the court can be the judge of that. But I do want them to know I am not just some kid. I take care of three children, many wives, and run eight companies with staff,” he said.

Just an innocent peck

Model Amalawan “Amie” Sirikittirat has hit back at internet critics who say she kisses her 12-year-old son inappropriately.

Amie has come under fire after posting on social media images in which she kisses her son on the lips. In the latest picture, the pair appear to share a lingering kiss, though Amie insists it was just a “peck” and urges Thais not to think too much. Critics say a 12-year-old is starting to mature sexually and might get confused if his mother kisses him too deeply.

Amie, known for her large breasts and relationship with a tearaway Taiwanese singer, said Thais should distinguish between a kiss, where the tongue is involved, and an innocent “peck”.

“A kiss is when you get the tongue in there, which is what adults do,” she said. “But I am just pecking my child, so how is that wrong? I peck him constantly, the same with my daughter.

“I have posted many such pictures, and people have been criticising them since I first started putting them on Instagram.

“This is really less about my son growing up than the critics’ base instincts or the way they think. We are of the same blood ... how is it wrong?”

Amie said she explains to her son constantly what she is doing, so he understands that actions have consequences.

The boy wasn’t being teased about it, and she denied posting the kiss pictures to draw attention to herself.

“Critics say it is indecent, ugly, a disgrace. My fans weigh in to support me, and end up arguing with my critics, some of whom simply don’t like me,” she said in tears. She did not say if she intends to carry on posting.
