-

>> PPTV HD 36 has secured the rights to broadcast live all 19 MotoGP races in Thailand this year.

PPTV president Surin Krittayaphongphun said that the station wanted the Thais to be able to watch MotoGP races so it bought the broadcast rights for the motorcycle championships.

“We want the Thais to be able to watch world-class motorcycle races in high definition throughout the year,” he told a press conference this week.

“The Thai fans will enjoy watching their favourite riders such as Mark Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Maverick Vinales, Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo, Yohann Zarco and more on PPTV.

“This is a significant move for Thailand’s motorsport. I truly anticipate successful feedbacks from the fans.”

The broadcast will begin with the season-opening Qatar Grand Prix tomorrow at 11pm. Fans can also watch it on www.pptvhd36.com.

This year’s races include one new event in the Kingdom, the PTT Thailand Grand Prix, to be held at Chang International Circuit in Buri Ram in October.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton suspects Red Bull may have the fastest car on the Formula One starting grid at next week’s Australian season-opener.

Mercedes’ four-time world champion said that Red Bull could be the team to watch come Melbourne on March 25.

“I think Red Bull are the fastest at the moment, potentially,” he said. “They have some sort of upgrade coming, of some magnitude, two-to-four tenths [of a second] or something like that. That’s what I heard.”
