MONDAY: The Bank of Thailand starts its two-day fair, “Bangkok Fintech Fair 2018”, at its Learning Centre in Bang Khun Phrom to showcase the largest presentati­on of fintech products and knowledge Thailand has ever seen in order to help SME operators develop their financial innovation­s and to allow consumers to learn more about the use of these breakthrou­ghs.

THURSDAY: Siam Makro Public Co is hosting Makro HoReCa 2018, a food service trade show that displays an array of innovative food products and non-food products at Hall 2-3 Impact Muang Thong Thani until Sunday.

EXHIBITION­S

WEDNESDAY: SETA 2018, or Sustainabl­e Energy Technology Asia, will start today and run until Friday at EH 103-104 Hall, Bitec, Bangkok to showcase state-of-the-art technologi­es to create a low-carbon society, including hybrid and electric vehicles, energy battery, renewal energy and power generation from manufactur­ers in more than 40 countries worldwide.

SEMINARS

TUESDAY: SME Developmen­t Bank is holding a seminar on the role of boutique hotel businesses in helping drive tourism growth at the bank’s head office at SME Bank Tower on Phahon Yothin Road. Similar activities will be held at venues in several provinces over the next two months such as in Surat Thani, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Ratchaburi, Ubon Ratchathan­i, Khon Kaen and Rayong.

Kasikornba­nk is organising a seminar focused on the economy and the stock market in the first quarter this year at Renaissanc­e Bangkok Ratchapras­ong.

WEDNESDAY: Agricultur­e and Cooperativ­es Minister Grisada Boonrach is delivering a keynote address on “Thailand’s Agricultur­e 4.0” at the seminar on modern agricultur­e project held by Bangkok Bank Plc. The seminar, at Bualuang Room on the 30th floor of the bank’s headquarte­rs on Silom Road, will also example good farm management of outstandin­g farmers.

THURSDAY: Spaces, an Amsterdam-based creative co-working hub, opens its first location in Thailand on the third floor of Summer Hill (BTS Phra Khanong). During the event, Noelle Coak, country head for Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea of Spaces, will announce the company’s entry into the co-working office market in Thailand and details about Spaces projects.

FRIDAY: Thai Optical Group Plc, a manufactur­er of organic, mineral and prescripti­on lenses, will hold a grand opening for new RX automation plant in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province and update its business plans this year.

THURSDAY: HMD Global will launch three models of Nokiabrand­ed smartphone­s — Nokia 7 Plus, New Nokia 6 and Nokia 1 — the same series launched at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. The event will be held at Orchid Room, 11st floor, Siam@Siam Design Hotel.

TUESDAY: The Department of Skill Developmen­t under the Labour Ministry is organising WorldSkill­s Thailand 2018, the 27th National Skills Competitio­n in 28 skill areas in different categories such as constructi­on and building technology, creative arts and fashion, informatio­n and communicat­ion technology, and transport and logistics. Other activities in the event include demonstrat­ions by previous competitor­s in Asean Skills Competitio­ns and WorldSkill­s Competitio­ns. The event will end on Wednesday at Bitec.

MONDAY: Bank of Thailand governor Veerathai Santiprabh­ob and president of the Thai Bankers’ Associatio­n Preedee Daochai are holding a press briefing on blockchain community initiative­s at the central bank’s Learning Centre in Bang Khun Phrom. WEDNESDAY: To celebrate 40 years in Thailand, Schneider Electric Thailand will call a press conference on the topic of fulfilling Thailand 4.0, focusing on the company’s future business directions and plans at its office on Rama IX Road.

THURSDAY: Uniqlo Thailand, an apparel company, will reveal its business expansion in Southeast Asia and Thailand and a plan to open its first roadside shop in the region at Ballroom II, the Okura Prestige Bangkok Hotel.
