Asian food festival promises to be an organic affair
The “Asian Organic Gourmet Festival (AOGF) 2018”, hosted by 137 Pillars Suites & Residences on Sukhumvit 39, will offer an organic exploration for the whole family from today until Sunday.
Held for the first time in Bangkok, the fourth edition of the festival will feature a daily farmers’ market at the hotel’s Jamjuree Lawn, ground floor, from 11am-8pm, and visitors will meet some of the country’s biggest names in organic produce, including PatPat, which sources handicrafts and agricultural produce from locals involved in the Chaipattana Foundation.
Also set to be there will be Sloane, a company that is passionate about animal welfare; Arcadia Fine Foods, with a specially curated selection of fine foods and wines; Below 11 ice cream; and Weber BBQ. This is an opportunity to taste Turkish coffee and the delicious sweet pastry dessert baklava.
Top chefs from Argentina, Hawaii and Turkey will join one of Thailand’s most talented home-grown chefs as well as one of Indonesia’s best talents, to show off their culinary wizardry during cooking demonstrations, which will be held today and tomorrow, from 11.30am-1.30pm.
Saturday will offer a wellness day with some of the top wellness gurus — Master Jade, Roger Moore, Henrik Oloffson, Ron Veldhuis and Judith Coulson-Geissmann — sharing their knowledge and expertise on how to lead a healthier and happier life, through carefully choreographed presentations and demonstrations.
There will also be cocktail parties, a luxury auction and two lavish gala dinners by celebrated chef Tolgar Mireli from Turkey and chef Javier Rodriguez from Argentina, tomorrow and Saturday respectively, starting at 7pm.
The festival will conclude with a grand finale brunch by all five participating chefs, which will take place at Bangkok Trading Post Bistro & Deli, a one-minute walk from 137 Pillars Suites Bangkok, on Sunday at noon.
