The Script returns for a Bangkok rewrite

- — Apipar Norapoompipat

After charming the Thai crowd at their soldout show with their upbeat and positive rock anthems three years ago, Irish three-piece band The Script will be back in Bangkok this Saturday, performing its hit songs, including those from their and latest chart-topping album Freedom Child at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Formed in 2007 in Dublin, Ireland, Danny O’Donoghue (piano and vocals), Mark Sheehan (guitar) and Glen Power (drums) have quickly climbed up the music ranks to become one of the most successful bands in the world. Thanks to the self-described “Celtic-soul” pop style, in addition to large theatrical sounds and honest, touching lyrics, the band has sold over 29 million records, headlined over 200 giant shows, and performed for over a million people worldwide. Freedom Child was released last September and rose to No.1 in the UK charts. Straying away from their glossy rock anthems, the band will now let Thai audiences hear its new sound, consisting of more acoustic instruments, dance hall beats and even a touch of EDM. Expect to hear hits like The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Superheroes, Hall Of Fame and Rain. With the same stage layout as last year, standing tickets cost 2,500 and 3,500 baht, while seated tickets are 2,000, 2,500, and 4,000 baht. VIP packages for both standing and seated tickets are available. For 5,500 baht, VIP concertgoers will get an exclusive 2018 tour VIP gift, The Script 2018 tour VIP tote bag, a signed 2018 tour programme, and commemorative VIP laminated and custom lanyard.
