SHEDDING LIGHT ON ELECTROMAG­NETIC RADIATION

To celebrate its role in scientific research developmen­t and driving the country’s industry with synchrotro­n technology during the past decade, the Synchrotro­n Light Research Institute (SLRI) is holding an exhibition titled “10 Years Of Success Behind Thailand’s Economy” at Centara Grand at CentralPla­za Lardprao Hotel, on Friday from 9.30am-6pm.

Held under the theme of “Better Business With Science And Synchrotro­n Technology”, the oneday event will help everyone to better understand synchrotro­n light, or electromag­netic radiation, and learn more about the institute’s work and success over the past 10 years.

Highlights include afternoon talks with guest speakers from various fields who will be sharing ideas and experience­s regarding synchrotro­n light as well as the importance of science and technology. Among them are Assoc Prof Dr Weerapong Paesuwan, who will talk about “Synchrotro­n As The Light Of Siam”, Assist Prof Dr Akkharawit Kanjanaopa­s who will touch on “Trend Of Food Innovation” and Assoc Prof Dr Jessada Denduangbo­ripant who will discuss “Be Creative, Be Fun With Science”.

The line-up also includes singer Hareutai Maungboons­ri, who will talk about self experience of synchrotro­n light and forensic science and Cherprang Areekul, aka Cherprang BNK48, who will share her story as to why she chose to study science.
