CentralWorld celebrates Italian heritage
The wonders of Italy will fill the air of CentralWorld during the “Italian Week 2018@CentralWorld” from tomorrow to Sunday. Held to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Thai-Italian diplomatic relations and sponsored by the Embassy of Italy, the fair will present a variety of premium products as well as the cultural richness of Italy at many zones throughout the shopping centre. Opening day will see a performance of operatic pop (or popera) by Fivera, a five-member group, at the Central Court, at 5pm. Experienced orchestral pianist Sasipa Rasmitat will offer a piano recital featuring music by Italian composers, four times a day at 12.30am, 2.30pm, 4.30pm and 6.30pm. The Eden 2 zone will house many interesting activities. The “Bar Italia”, a luxurious cafe with a garden atmosphere, will serve authentic Italian coffee from Segafredo Zanetti and present the freshest original coffee beans from Lavazza Coffee. Visitors are invited to learn more about coffee and witness demonstrations on how to make latte art and coffee shakes daily at 11am and 6pm. Also running will be “Chef’s Table” featuring three cooking shows where experienced chefs will use ingredients and seasonings imported from Italy to prepare such savoury dishes and delights as parmigiano reggiano and caviar fagottelli (tomorrow), braised oxtail and truffle ravioli (Thursday) and ciabatta (Friday), all starting at 3pm. A tiramisu workshop will be held on Saturday followed by a workshop on sun-dried tomatoes and black olive Focaccia with rosemary on Sunday, both starting at 4pm, free of charge but with limited seats (call 095-1340750). Pizza lovers can check out “Made To Order Pizza” where they can order and take away freshly baked pizza. The “Italian Booth” will offer special prices on a wide range of “Made In Italy” products including premium chocolate from Venchi. Those who love cooking will definitely find their favourite Italian ingredients brought by such leading importers as Sino Pacific, East West Trading, Global Food Products and Jagota (Casa Rinaldhi). Many Italian-made products as well as services will be available, also at special prices, at the Beacon 2 zone.
