Jailed: For 60 days for malfeasance in office that was actually assault and battery, former Ban Phai (Khon Kaen province) municipality mayor Premsak Piayura. He’s the power-mad, junta-appointed tyrant who ordered, then forced a Daily News reporter to strip down to his underwear, to punish him for reporting the mayor’s fixation on an underage teenage “bride”. The act put him on front pages, and it’s excellent to see a proper follow-up.

Killed: In a horrific head-on car crash, Ouk Phalla, the 39-year-old wife of Cambodian Prince and veteran politician Norodom Ranariddh, who is 74. The prince was so badly injured he was transferred to a Thai hospital for treatment. The pair were in a convoy to Sihanoukville when a taxi slammed into their SUV.

Arrested: On charges of procuring, pornography, acting as a tour guide and overstaying his visa, Australian Steven Allan Carpenter, 49. He advertised openly on his Facebook page to promote his “sex cruises” with prostitutes for only 38,000 to 50,000 baht for six hours at sea for some clients — half the payment up front. He fled Pattaya to escape police, who took hours to find him in Saraburi.

Sentenced: To two years in prison, former foreign minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul. While serving under Voldemort’s sister in 2011, Mr Surapong issued a passport to Satan’s agent Lord Voldemort na Dubai. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders ruled he had “aided and abetted” The Fugitive. He is on bail of three million baht so he can appeal.

Indicted: By a US federal court with 13 counts of espionage-type charges, former CIA and NSA cyberspy Joshua Adam Schulte, 29. The back story is that Schulte (who also faces child pornography charges) stole code for CIA hacking tools and gave it to WikiLeaks, which posted the tools publicly. They have since been used in numerous break-ins and ransom attacks by criminal hackers.
