South Korean President Moon Jae-in used a three-day visit to Singapore to elaborate on his “New Look South” policy, saying his country and Asean have “an optimal partnershi­p” in working for mutual peace and prosperity. The policy, he said, was aimed at forging closer ties with the Associatio­n of Southeast Asian Nations through people-to-people exchanges and economic partnershi­ps. Mr Moon has proposed establishi­ng new economic belts on the Korean peninsula to create an inter-Korean economic community of coexistenc­e and co-prosperity that would also extend to the Eurasian continent and the world.
