South Korean President Moon Jae-in used a three-day visit to Singapore to elaborate on his “New Look South” policy, saying his country and Asean have “an optimal partnership” in working for mutual peace and prosperity. The policy, he said, was aimed at forging closer ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations through people-to-people exchanges and economic partnerships. Mr Moon has proposed establishing new economic belts on the Korean peninsula to create an inter-Korean economic community of coexistence and co-prosperity that would also extend to the Eurasian continent and the world.
