Thoth Zocial OBVOC, a local social listening data analytics firm, is rebranding to Wisesight and expanding its footprint in Asia-Pacific.

The recent cave rescue mission in Chiang Rai received heavy attention on social media, says Wisesight.

“We foresee fast-growing demand for social listening service in business organisations as consumers heavily use and are engaged in the online community in Thailand,” said Kla Tangsuwan, chief executive of Wisesight Co.

The 30-day cave rescue mission in Chiang Rai received global online attention, he said.

From June 20 to July 11, there were 833,012 messages from all channels or an average of 37,864 messages per day.

Total engagement was 238,309,331 or 10,832,242 per day.

Mr Kla said the top channels for messages and engagement were: Twitter, 420,700 messages with 458,908,618 engagements; and Facebook, 254,010 messages with 154,976,981 engagements. Instagram saw 114,487 messages with 34,837,797 engagements and YouTube got 27,293 messages with 2,563,744 engagements, excluded view numbers.

He said the country continues to use social listening analysis, i n particular for entertainment, as fan clubs follow their celebrities and provide feedback.

“There is big demand in the overseas market,” said Mr Kla.

The company expanded to Malaysia at the end of last year and has already broken even, he said.

Pnern Asavavipas, the chief operating officer, said Malaysia is now the company’s Asia-Pacific regional hub, while Bangkok is its headquarters.

“As a multicultural country, Malaysia facilitates our overseas expansion efforts,” he said.

Thoth Zocial OBVOC was formed through a merger of two social analytic firms in early 2017 and raised US$1 million (33.3 million baht).

The firm plans to raise funds from strategic investors as well attract corporate venture capital next year.

By 2020, the company aims to have onethird of its total revenue from abroad, compared with only 10% in 2017.

Mr Pnern said the company will also launch Wisesight Academy, offering training courses in social data analysis.
