50 First Kisses

Featuring Takayuki Yamada and Masami Nagasawa, this film follows George Wing’s original story of a young man who meets the woman of his dreams in Hawaii. All seems to be going well until he realises she forgets about him the very next day, as she suffers from short-term memory loss. Directed by Yûichi Fukada.

Animal World

Based on the manga series Ultimate Survivor Kaiji, Kaisi is in immense debt. He boards a risky gambling party ship with the promise that his debts will be written off if he wins, leaving his ill mother and childhood sweetheart behind. Directed by Yan Han.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

Paul Rudd returns as Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly as Wasp in this Marvel Universe. Michael Douglas is Dr Hank Pym, who created the Ant-Man suit, and in this film he tries to retrieve his lost wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) who’s been trapped in the Quantum Realm. Directed by Peyton Reed.

American Animals

A retelling of a true-crime story in which four students at Kentucky University plan a major heist of a rare antique book from the college library with the hope of selling it on the black market. Directed by Bart Layton.

Sanju

This is a biopic of the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, a controvers­ial figure in Hindi cinema. Dutt is well-known for playing bad guys and thugs, and in real life he was jailed for his involvemen­t with a series of bombings in Mumbai. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Sicario: Day Of The Saldado

Starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin, the sequel of the acclaimed drug-war thriller has returned. As the cartels operating on the US-Mexico border have begun traffickin­g terrorists into the US, federal agent Matt Graver (Brolin) re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro (del Toro) to combat the enemies who often remain invisible.

Submergenc­e

In this romance-thriller, James McAvoy plays an operative who has been kidnapped by insurgents in Africa. Thousands of miles away in the Greenland Sea, his girlfriend (Alicia Vikander) prepares to dive in a submersibl­e to the ocean floor. Confined in their own claustroph­obic space, the two lovers think back to the Christmas when they met. Directed by Wim Wenders.

Loving Pablo

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz star in this thriller. The film is based on the true story of Pablo Escobar’s love affair with TV host Virginia Vallejo, which took place in the midst of his rise to power from the drug trade. Directed by Fernando León de Aranoa.

In this eccentric Japanese superhero movie, a 58-year-old, cancer-stricken man gets blasted by lightning that turns him into a superhero. His mission is to stop the megalomani­ac rise of another superhero. Directed by Shinsuke Sato.

The Incredible­s 2

In this sequel of Pixar 2004 Oscar winner, The Incredible­s face both domestic and external challenges. While Helen (Holly Hunter) is out saving the world, she leaves Bob (Craig T. Nelson) at home to care for the children, Violet (Sarah Vowell) and Dash (Huck Milner). When a new villain emerges with a dangerous plot, the family has to unite for a big fight. Directed by Brad Bird.

Disobedien­ce

Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams star in this same-sex love story. Set in an ultra orthodox Jewish community in London, the film follows Ronit (Weisz), a photograph­er who left the neighbourh­ood years ago and now returns for her father’s funeral. McAdams plays a woman married to a rising-star rabbi, and whose past relationsh­ip with Ronit has rekindled with her lover’s return. Directed by Sebastian Lelio.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return for the sequel to

Jurassic World. After the dino-rampage, Jurassic Park is closed down. But when the island’s dormant volcano starts spewing smoke and lava, Owen (Pratt) and Claire (Dallas Howard) return to rescue the dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
