-

Thanyakorn Khrongpha stormed to a four-stroke victory at the Singha All Thailand Championship at Laemchabang International Country Club in Chon Buri yesterday.

The 28-year-old, who carried a six-shot advantage after three rounds, closed with a 72 to win his second All Thailand Golf Tour (ATGT) title on 13-under 267 at the par-70 course.

The runner-up spot went to Rattanon Wannasrichan, who shot a 70 for 271.

Khon Kaen-native Thanyakorn, whose only ATGT win came here two years ago, got 450,000 baht, while Rattanon received 277,500 baht at the three-million baht event, the sixth leg of the 2018 tour.

Suteepat Prakeeptienchai (69) and Kasidit Lepkurte (70) shared third on 272s and took home 155,250 baht each.

Defending champion Tirawat Kaewsiribandit shot a second straight 70 to share the 29th place on 279 with three players including Atiruj Winaicharoenchai (69), who won his maiden professional title on the Thailand PGA tour event last week.

The seventh leg of the tour will be the two-million baht Singha Championship at Rayong Green Valley Country Club, Rayong, on Aug 2-5.

In another development, Sadom Kaewkanjana posted a final round seven-under 65 to win the title by one shot in the Boy’s event at the Dutch Junior Open in the Netherlands on Saturday.

The Thai was at 16-under-272 total and local hopeful Kiet Van Der Weele (67) came in second on 273.

With the win, Sadom, who is the first Thai to do so, became eligible to play in the European Tour’s KLM Open in September.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support. Special thanks for Nopparat who caddied me and that made everything much easier,” said Sadom.

The Thailand team, featuring Kan Bunnabodi, Kulthida Pramphun and Napablach Boon-in, won the women’s team title at the 17-nation Dutch Junior Open.

Kan was also a runner-up in the individual event, while Kulthida and Napapach finished third and fourth respectively.

Sadom, Kan and Kulthida will be representing Thailand at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia next month.
