Art of Looking Good
After se ve ral coll abora tion s with fa shi on la be ls, Laneig e has turned to Ki m Gun- joo’s artisty in designing packaging of summer limited-editions.
The Seoul-based visual artist is known for drawings of patterns created through repeated simplified lines and silk-screen printing in matte and multiple colours.
Kim’s notable works include the “Everything Is One” series featuring symbols of people, yellow stars, blue sea and green tree expressing how we should live in harmony with nature.
His signature motifs are splashed on the “Sparkle My Way” collection, which encourages each women to be uniquely beautiful while appreciative of art when looking at Laneige beauty products.
Kim’s previous collaborati ons with other brands, such as Lacoste, JanSport and Toms, allowed him to interact and communicate with consumers, without his art having to be presented on a canvas or hung in a gallery.
Valuing individuality and diversity, he shares the same thinking as the K- beauty brand, whose “Sparkle My
Way” collecti on compri ses skincare and make- up products to help women shine in their own way.
