Chakthip cracks down on car perk

-

POLICE: National police chief Chakthip Chaijinda has issued an order prohibiting personal use of state vehicles by senior officers.

The order was circulated in a letter telling police commissioners and commanders, who have access to vehicles, not to abuse the privilege by keeping them for personal use.

Some cars were found to have been kept at officers’ houses without permission, Pol Gen Chakthip said.

He also ordered the Special Branch Police (SBP) to conduct random checks on vehicles used by senior officers. The SBP will report any senior officer misusing state vehicles.

Pol Gen Chakthip said senior officers should return cars after use and park them in designated areas. If vehicles are to be parked overnight or longer somewhere else, prior permission must be obtained.
