MEX4: PRESERVATION OF THE OCCULT / THE NATIONAL GALLERY / AUG 8-30
The Embassy of Mexico introduces “MEX4: Preservation of the Occult”, its second large-exhibition, in collaboration with the National Gallery. As part of Bangkok Biennial 2018, the exhibition will feature more than 80 intriguing pieces of photography, sculpture and mixed-media artworks. To name a few, In-Between/Difference by Sylvana Burns, will present a provocative distortion of the female beauty ideals; Imper
manence by Maribel Portela, will show biophilic oniric paper sculptures; Urban Altarpieces by Hector de Anda, uses material deterioration for a re-signifying of the street and clerical worlds; and Demons (Chamucos) by Adolfo Perez Butron, will link ancestry and common heritage with colourful photography.
