tomorrow] Held to mark HM Queen Sirikit’s birthday anniversary, the “Stylistic Diversity In Painting, Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts And Crafts Centre” exhibition features a dozen of craft masterpieces that have traditional Thai painting woven into them. They are created by the crafts centre’s masters and students who are demonstrating their craftsmanship at the exhibition. FLOWERS FOR QUEEN [Emporium Gallery, M floor of Emporium, Sukhumvit Road, 11am-9pm, until Aug 13] Held to mark HM Queen Sirikit’s 86th birthday anniversary, the “Emporium EmQuartier The Queen Of Tropical Rainforest 2018” exhibition features a 7m-tall installation of “Hanuman Protecting The Rama Pavilion” decorated with more than 100,000 plants and flowers including Siam tulips and Holland hydrangeas imported from the Netherlands. 16] Held to mark HM Queen Sirikit’s 86th birthday anniversary, “The Queen’s Support And Encouragement To The Land Of Siam” exhibition illustrates the queen’s extensive royal duties related to the preservation, promotion and revival of Thai traditional fabrics. Viewers will learn about the origin of the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques; witness weaving demonstrations from each region, Thai national costumes and khon costumes; and shop for products from the Support Foundation at Fashion Hall, 1st floor, until Aug 14. It features the queen’s countless honourable missions and works for the well-being of the Thai people and ethnic minorities, betterment of the quality of life, environment conservation, and art and cultural revival.
