Road closed after fuel truck crash

LAMPANG: A truck fully loaded with diesel fuel overturned in Lampang yesterday, spilling over 6,000 litres of fuel and forcing officials to temporarily close a road to traffic.

The oil truck, which belongs to PT, overturned yesterday at 11am on Ban Tha Sae Road in tambon Ban Dong, Mae Moh district. Jira-angkoon Jaisarn, 40, the driver, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lampang Hospital by the rescue team.

It took authorities six hours to remove the truck and the fuel from the road. Police say that the driver’s unfamiliarity with the road’s curves and slopes caused the accident.
