Grand Hyatt Erawan’s ultimate goal in human resource development is to make our employees happy and treat them like family members. We think that good health is a fundamental factor. Health intertwines different aspects of wellbeing. If you have good health, you have a good mood, and when you have good mood, you can work well and expose positive energy to other people. That, in turn, improves interpersonal relations in both one’s professional and personal life. With this in mind, we have recently launched Hyest Looser and HyFit to promote health among our employees. The programmes encourage employees to participate in our provided exercise classes, running events, and other health promotion activities. We give them points for each time they attend a given activity, and they will have the privilege of getting health gadgets, incentives and recognitions. This is how we engage our employees in health improvement in the workplace. Besides exercises, we provide our employees healthy food. Food is the key to achieving good health and wellness. We receive advice from our chefs how to create healthier menus with more nutrition and less fat. However, health promotion among employees is also all about personal motivation and engagement. We cannot force employees to take all we give. What we are doing is raising their awareness about health first. We have to provide role models and success stories to inspire those who tend not to join in. We believe that good health will create appropriate life-balance among our employees that will result in service quality improvement. This is

We treat our employees as family members, not just labour.

evidenced by our customers’ feedback from random surveys. Working in the hospitality industry, good attitude and Emotional Quotient (EQ) are so important. We believe that our employees work well because they have good health at the heart of everything. Therefore, we continue to implement health promotion as part of our people development. Thailand’s Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality project is considered a blueprint for health promotion in the workplace for all businesses. The results of the survey tell us how far we have come and how well we have done to improve our employees’ wellness. All in all we just only bring Hyatt’s Purpose to life “We care for People so they can be their best.
