Porsche posers get fined

-

The drivers of 13 Porsche cars have each been fined 500-1,500 baht for red-light violations and blocking an intersection while visiting a rich family in Nan’s Muang district. All showed up to pay their fines at Nan police station late on Sunday night after a video clip posted online earlier that day showed two Porsches stopped in the middle of Wat Sri Panton intersection in Muang district, blocking approaching traffic to make way for 11 other Porsches making a right turn — against a red light. The clip went viral with comments about traffic rules being broken. Local police identified the drivers from the licence plates visible in the posted video and from a surveillance camera. Police fined each of the 13 drivers 500 baht for failing to stop at a red light while the two who blocked the intersection were each fined 1,000 baht. The name of the wealthy family the Porsche convoy members were visiting was not revealed.
