EXCLUSIVE STYLES AT SAI JAI THAI WEEK
A range of quality handicraft products from the Sai Jai Thai Foundation are on offer during the “Sai Jai Thai Week” which kicks off today and runs until Sunday from 10am to 9pm at the Lifestyle Hall, 2nd floor of Siam Paragon, Rama I.
Held to mark the foundation’s 44th anniversary, the fair will feature more than 2,000 hand-crafted items made by disabled war veterans using donated pieces of fabric and leather.
This is a great opportunity to shop for special products including a limited collection of bags and satin silk scarves featuring wild bird prints designed by Nithi Sathapitanon, a national artist in applied art. The scarves will be launched at the fair to raise environmental awareness.
Available alongside the handicrafts from the foundation will be many products from Kamlangjai Project, which was initiated by HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati who will preside over the opening ceremony today at 2pm.
The afternoon includes a special performance by leading actress Diana Flipo, who will be wearing the latest collection of silks with floral prints, and joined by more than 30 guest models. Singer Lookwa Pijika will give a mini concert later in the day.
There will also be a demonstration on ceramic painting every day offering personalised hand-painted products to shoppers. Attendees are also invited to indulge in the many mouthwatering dishes and desserts cooked by volunteers from Sai Jai Thai Kitchen.
Sai Jai Thai Foundation was established in 1975 following the recommendation of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and HM Queen Sirikit, who wished the foundation to help war veterans and their families earn a living by giving them vocational training so that they can make money from the products they made.
