Sombre remembrance at Thammasat
To mark the 43rd anniversary of the Oct 6 student uprisings in 1976, myriad activities will be organised this weekend at Thammasat University, Tha Prachan campus.
TOMORROW 1-1.30pm
“Sieng Jak Daen Klai” (“Voice From Afar”), an interview with Charan Ditha-apichai, former student leader during the Oct 6 uprising and former national human rights commissioner. Charan was also chosen as an outstanding alumni of the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, in 2004.

Presentation and discussion on students’ opinions with regard to constitutional amendment led by Assoc Prof Dr Anusorn Unno and Asst Prof Dr Somchai Srisan.
2.30-3.10pm
Lecture on “constitutional glitches”. — Constitution through the eyes of the citizens by Surapon Songrak.
— Constitution’s problems by Khemthong Tonsakulrungruang.
3.10-5pm
Lecture on “Political Parties And Constitutional Amendment” by representatives from Pheu Thai Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Future Forward Party, Democrat Party, Chartthaipattana Party and Prachachat Party.

Merit-making and alms-offering for 19 monks.

Opening speech by Assoc Prof Gasinee Witoonchart, rector of Thammasat University. Minutes of silence to remember lives lost during the 1976 student uprising. Poetry reading by student representatives.
