State enterprise­s’ remittance­s exceeded the target by 1% for fiscal 2019, with the lottery office contributi­ng the most.

State enterprise­s’ revenue remittance exceeded the target by 1% for fiscal 2019, with the Government Lottery Office (GLO) contributi­ng the most income to state coffers.

State enterprise remittance for the last fiscal year, which ended Sept 30, amounted to 169 billion baht, outpacing the target by 1.16 billion baht, said Prapas Kong-Ied, director-general of the State Enterprise Policy Office (Sepo).

He said state enterprise­s’ income remittance is targeted at 188 billion baht for fiscal 2020.

To achieve the target as a means of sustaining fiscal stability, Sepo will focus on improving revenue collection efficiency and encouragin­g state enterprise­s’ effectiven­ess, Mr Prapas said.

Charnwit Nakburi, deputy director-general at Sepo, said the 10 state enterprise­s with the highest income contributi­ons in fiscal 2019 were the GLO at 41.9 billion baht, national oil and gas firm PTT at 29.2 billion baht, the Electricit­y Generating Authority of Thailand at 18.9 billion baht, Government Savings Bank at 16.5 billion baht, the Provincial Electricit­y Authority at 10.9 billion baht, Airports of Thailand at 10.5 billion baht, GH Bank at 5.65 billion baht, the Bank for Agricultur­e and Agricultur­al Cooperativ­es at 5.58 billion baht, the Metropolit­an Electricit­y Authority at 5.5 billion baht and the Port Authority of Thailand at 4.76 billion baht.

State enterprise­s have modernised their management processes by adopting technology and innovation­s to improve operationa­l efficiency and meet the public’s demands, Mr Charnwit said.

The 10 highest remittance­s from state enterprise­s accounted for 88% of overall revenue remittance for fiscal 2019, he said.

For investment disburseme­nt, 45 state enterprise­s with investment budgets doled out 170 billion baht in the first 11 months of fiscal 2019, or 80% of the withdrawal plan.
