Beauty and entertainment at Mae Moh 2019

Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, Wat Phrabat Pu Pha Daeng, Ratsadaphisek Bridge and Kad Kong Ta market are among the famous spots that make Lampang one of the top tourist destinations in the North. And with the province playing host to the much-anticipated Mae Moh Festival 2019 this weekend, tourist numbers are expected to swell even more.

Following last year’s successful instalment, which drew almost 250,000 visitors from Thailand and beyond, the 15th edition of the annual festival returns with a range of activities at the Mae Moh Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in Mae Moh district from Friday to Sunday.

Held in collaboration with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), this year’s Mae Moh Festival follows the theme “Greenovation In The Park” to convey Egat’s choice of modern, environmentally-friendly technology for mining and electricity generation.

Visitors will enjoy the cool breeze and beautiful natural scenery around Egat Mae Moh, especially at Chalerm Prakiat Garden, the Botanical Garden and Lignite Study Center Museum (Mae Moh Mine).

Activities throughout the three days include muay Thai boxing, a small aeroplane show, a horse-riding tour, a carnival, a cosplay parade and street shows at the Botanical Garden. There will also be a dance contest and a folk song singing contest at Chalerm Prakiat Garden.

In the evening, the main stage will feature concerts by various popular acts starting from 6.30pm. The line-up features James Jirayu, Taew Nathaporn, Lula and Bodyslam on Friday; Yaya Urassaya, Nadech Kugimiya, Pop Pongkul, Ekachai Srivichai and Lomosonic on Saturday; and Baifern Pimchanok, DJ Phut, Ice

Saranyoo and New Jiew on Sunday. Another highlight will be a spectacular light and sound show every evening. Nearly 500 booths and stalls will be selling community products and food daily from 10am.
