A very noisy Xmas

-

It is so sad to understand the old charm of Bangkok is gone, probably forever. There is a new stage, Dockyard, for pop bands and artists to perform loudly near Saphan Taksin. This Christmas, a festival called “Food Camp” has been running. It means constant, forced listening of very loud music from 7.30 pm until midnight or later.

We have spent more than 15 winters here in Bangkok, most of the time in our riverside condominium located on the other side of the river. The new stage is just opposite us.

There are also several hotels nearby, some of them luxury hotels and I cannot see them being very happy with the loud music.

Now the Christmas Season is spoiled and it may be just the beginning. I wonder how all the high-rise new condominium projects will sell when the potential buyers understand there is a continuous noise terror going on.
