Expect to find classic Vietnamese dishes such as grilled marinated pork wrapped in betel leaf served with vermicelli and sweet chilli sauce; Vietnamese fresh spring roll with vegetables, pork sausage, vermicelli and prawn filling; grilled nam nueung pork sausage with assorted fresh herbs and vegetables; and Vietnamese rice noodle soup. Okura Prestige (02-687-9000) January and February: Up & Above restaurant features chankonabe hotpot of udon noodles, chicken, king crab, prawns, sea bass, mussels, clams and vegetables in a chicken dashi broth, at 650 baht per pot. Yamazato Japanese restaurant offers a winter series of set lunch and multicours­e kaiseki dinner, priced at 1,500 baht and 4,700 baht per person. Until Jan 26: To celebrate Chinese New Year, Fei Ya restaurant offers set lunch and dinner menus, with prices ranging from 1,888 baht to 3,888 baht per person. Each set comes with a variety of Cantonese specialiti­es including yusheng salad; lychee wood-roasted Peking duck; wok-fried scallops and sea whelk with honey bean in garlic chilli sauce; braised Australian abalone with goose web, mushroom and seaweed; steamed whole spotted grouper in Hong Kong soya sauce; fried rice with shrimp, quinoa, dried scallop and egg white; and double-steamed bird’s nest in coconut milk. Meanwhile La Tavola restaurant presents today a star-studded cuisine by Italian guest chef Andrea Cannalire of Italy’s Michelin-starred restaurant Cielo Relais La Sommità. Expect to find his signature dishes such as Angus beef tartare with Parmiggian­o Reggiano mousse and raspberry; cod fish on capsicum cream; and lamb loin with goat cheese, cherry confit and kaffir lime.
