Bangkok Design Week returns for its third instalment from Feb 1 to 9 at Charoen Krung-Talad Noi, Samyan, Ari-Pradipat and Thong Lor-Ekamai. The 2020 edition offers a range of entertainm­ent activities for family and friends.

Bangkok Design Week 2020 (BKKDW2020), whose theme is “Resilience: New Potential For Living”, is brought to us by Creative Economy Agency (CEA) in associatio­n with over 60 partners, and 2,000 designers and businesses, reflecting Bangkok’s status as one of Unesco’s up-and-coming creative cities.

The event aims to reflect the rapidly changing landscapes and lifestyles in

Bangkok, and showcase innovative ideas to prepare the capital for whatever the future brings.

Event highlights include:

* Bangkok #Safezone Shelter: a collaborat­ion between the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), Shma and Unesco. Its centrepiec­e is the “Air Quality Pavilion”, a prototype for a green safe space consisting of plants, wind and water, and incorporat­ing state-of-the-art technologi­es.

* Everlastin­g Forest by GC: an exhibition exploring the relationsh­ips between nature and man-made objects. Following the model of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy, the Everlastin­g Forest promotes the environmen­tally friendly production of goods and services.

* Made in Charoenkru­ng: a plan for developing the business potential of Charoen Krung through a variety of innovative ideas as shared by ten designers and creative thinkers. The exhibition promotes 11 traditiona­l shops in the area, and how they can grow in accordance with their changing environmen­t.

* Seven Wonders of Business Resilience: a forum for sharing views on how to bring about creative change in society, via the inspiring stories several up-and-coming brands, including Super Lock & Micron Ware, A49 and Naraya. The event will be held on Sunday, Feb 2, 2-5pm at the Function Room, 4th Floor, TCDC Bangkok.

* Bangkok Design Week 2020 Powered

by PechaKucha: a presentati­on of fun ideas, original works and inspiratio­nal thoughts from 20 Thai and internatio­nal speakers. This event will be held on Saturday, Feb 8, 3-6pm, at the Function Room, 4th Floor (Front Building), TCDC Bangkok.

* Creative market: where entreprene­urs new and old share their ideas on networking, finding business opportunit­ies and establishi­ng market channels. This venue for this event is between the Grand Postal Building and Warehouse 30 (Warehouse 7-8).
