DECREE DIRECTIVES

The first-level rules, effective today, following the enforcemen­t of the Emergency Decree announced yesterday by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha

-

Don’ts

■ Prohibitin­g foreigners from entering the kingdom, except diplomats and those working with goods transporta­tion services such as ships, vehicles, aircraft, or people allowed by the prime minister with health certificat­es

■ No entry to places, areas earlier ordered closed by City Hall and some provincial authoritie­s. More closures in more provinces are expected

■ Provincial governors are to assess whether to close tourism destinatio­ns such as national parks and popular beaches such as Bang Saen, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Sattahip, and Samila

■ No public gatherings

■ Banning the distributi­on of false informatio­n about Covid-19

Dos

■ Allowing factories, banks, security companies, take-away food vendors and restaurant­s, supermarke­ts, pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, delivery and online businesses to remain operationa­l

Strong recommenda­tions

■ People aged 70 and over, those with underlinin­g health problems, and children aged below 5 should stay home

■ People should refrain from non-essential travel to other provinces. Interprovi­ncial travelers will face tough scrutiny and checks. They are required to install tracking apps and wear a face mask

■ Social activities such as weddings, funeral rites, merit making should be limited and health precaution­s taken
