The first-level rules, effective today, following the enforcement of the Emergency Decree announced yesterday by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha
Don’ts
■ Prohibiting foreigners from entering the kingdom, except diplomats and those working with goods transportation services such as ships, vehicles, aircraft, or people allowed by the prime minister with health certificates
■ No entry to places, areas earlier ordered closed by City Hall and some provincial authorities. More closures in more provinces are expected
■ Provincial governors are to assess whether to close tourism destinations such as national parks and popular beaches such as Bang Saen, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Sattahip, and Samila
■ No public gatherings
■ Banning the distribution of false information about Covid-19
Dos
■ Allowing factories, banks, security companies, take-away food vendors and restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, hospitals and clinics, delivery and online businesses to remain operational
Strong recommendations
■ People aged 70 and over, those with underlining health problems, and children aged below 5 should stay home
■ People should refrain from non-essential travel to other provinces. Interprovincial travelers will face tough scrutiny and checks. They are required to install tracking apps and wear a face mask
■ Social activities such as weddings, funeral rites, merit making should be limited and health precautions taken
