Troops swoop on Myanmar migrants
SECURITY: Eighty-one Myanmar migrants were yesterday caught illegally crossing the Thai-Myanmar border near the Moei River in Tak’s Mae Sot district after the government imposed a state of emergency to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
On the first day of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration yesterday, a special task force of the 4th Army Region scoured the Thai-Myanmar border near the Moei River before they discovered 14 migrants — nine men and five women — attempting to illegally cross the border at a natural crossing in tambon Tha Sai Luad.
