LOUBOUTIN BARES HIS SOLE
The Palais de la Porte Dorée has recently opened “Christian Louboutin: L’Exhibition[niste]”, the largest-ever exhibition devoted to creations of the internationally renowned footwear designer and key figure in the fashion world. The exhibition is like an invitation to discover Christian Louboutin’s rich universe and every facet of his multi-referential works. His vision is presented through 11 chapters dedicated to key inspirations as well as a selection of significant artworks from his personal collection and loans from public collections. This is a rare chance to see a large selection of his finest creations from shoes to sketches, many of which have never been exhibited before. These historic and artistic pieces are displayed alongside several exclusive collaborations which pay tribute to his admiration for the skills of craftsmen. Also featured are new pieces, especially created by artists who are particularly important to the designer, as well as past collaborations with artists. The final section of the exhibition presents the «Imaginary Museum», a stroll through Christian Louboutin’s sources of inspiration and reference. This section also connects the exhibition to the history of the Palais itself featuring an eclectic selection of pieces ranging from blue and white Wedgwood porcelain to an Oscar Niemeyer Marquesa chaise. The exhibition is running for five months and will wrap up on July 26. Visit lexposition.christianlouboutin.com.
