“three” is a group of young blood artists from Japan known for their Japanese pop culture captured in the form of sculptures. Their colourful works are a celebration of anime and manga, literally and figuratively. Observe closer and you’ll realise that their sculptures are made by combining thousands of tiny figures together. These figures are cut as if to become a pixel to form a bigger picture. Their process highlights the idea of deconstruction to reconstruct something entirely new. The trio artist is considered a leader in Superflat, a postmodern art movement inspired by manga and anime. The super colourful facade of their works hides commentaries on Japan’s social state and consumer culture. This is three’s debut in Thailand.
