ANDY WARHOL: POP ART / RIVER CITY BANGKOK / MAY 1-AUG 16

-

128 original works and pieces of memorabilia of Andy Warhol, the Father of Pop Art, are on their way to Bangkok. The American artist was a leading figure of the pop art movement and a fixture at Studio 54, where debauchery and celebrity collided, and his studio The Factory, where the artistic type in New York hung out. Warhol is perhaps best known for his silkscreen portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Mao Tse Tung but he also explored art through performing art, film-making, video installation and writing. At this upcoming exhibition, his works will be grouped in four categories namely Self – Portraits and Photos, Celebrity Portraits, Magazine and Album Covers and Silk Printing and Others. Some of the most iconic pieces such as Elvis I and II (1964-1978), Campbell’s Soup Can (1967) and Cow (1971) will be on display. Lectures by experts to offer insight in Warhol’s works will be offered free of charge when you buy a ticket while special activities and parties are also in the pipeline. Early bird tickets are available now.

Mon-Thu 10am-8pm, Fri-Sun 10am-9pm / RCB Galleria, 2nd Floor, River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24 / Tickets via Ticketmelon at bit.ly/3307Wr4 / fb.com/RiverCityBangkok, 02-237-0077 / B300.
