Cooking the Dusit way

-

Dusit Thani College, one of the country’s leading institutes offering both vocational and postgraduate hospitality degrees, has recently launched the “DTC: The Giving Project” to offer more than 20 complimentary online courses for those looking for a career or extra income during this challenging time.

Most of the courses are culinary conducted by expert instructors who will demonstrate how to prepare savoury dishes, Thai desserts, bakery and beverage. So far four menus have been presented through video clips on YouTube Channel: DTC Channel. They are khanom chip Thai boran (traditional Thai dumplings), salad rolls, crepe rolls with foy thong (egg yolk thread) and double chocolate cookies.

The other new recipes will be shown on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays until June 29. They include cheddar and bacon scones today, khanom yim saneh (fried white sesame cookies) on May 6, a mocktail mixing on May 9, a cozy coffee and milky chocolate making on May 11 and Italian soda on May 13.

The next three courses will focus on how to make herbal inhaler on May 16, spa salt on May 18 and warm compress on May 20 before viewers will get back to the cooking mood and see how to prepare three savoury dishes — rice with fried pork curry on May 23, barbecued pork ribs on May 27 and steamed fish with soy sauce on May 30.

In June, expect to learn to cook kaeng liang or Thai spicy mixed vegetable soup on June 1 and khanom chin sao nam or Thai rice noodle with pineapple and coconut milk on June 3.

The rest of the courses will cover flower arrangement (round bouquet) on June 6, basic carving for plate decoration on June 8, easy vegetable and fruit carving on June 10, how to fold napkin into a banana and a bird of paradise on June 13 and how to fold towel into a swan, a peacock and an elephant on June 29.

All clips are in Thai and can be viewed from YouTube Channel: DTC Channel. Visit facebook.com/DTCThailand, email pr.pr@dtc.ac.th or call 02-361-7811/3.
