New lease of life for exhibitions

-

It’s still a long way before the school term will start and children are having a lot of time to enjoy a virtual trip to many popular exhibitions that were once held at Museum Siam.

Held under the “#NoDistanceInLearning” concept, the “Virtual Exhibition” brings back nine temporary exhibitions that attracted a lot of visitors when they were exhibited at Museum Siam during the past eight years.

They are now presented in a 360degree panoramic format, giving new experiences of self-learning during the stay-at-home period. The exhibitions include “Kin Khong Nao (Rotten Delicacies: The Culture Of Food Preservation)” which explores the local wisdom of our ancestors in preserving food; and “Chai Lai Pai Nai” which reveals every aspect of beauty and gets viewers to find out if trying to be pretty always comes with torture.

Get to know about how the country made a good fortune from forest products during the Ayutthaya period and how we can use it as a model for our own business in “Kha Khong Pa” and learn about the good old days of Tha Tian, formerly the hippest spot in Bangkok and how we can conserve its identity in “Tha Tian: Where Bangkok City Was Born”.

See how lacquer trees can boost the relationships among Asean countries in “Gloss, Glitter And Glamour: Lacquer As A Glue Of Asean Cultures” and then listen to the voices of Asean through the sound installation of “As((ear))n”.

“Myanmar Up-Close” will once again get viewers to look at Myanmar people living in Thailand in a new light and also understand our social diversity while “Tom Yum Kung Studies: Lessons (Un)Learned” decodes the Tom Yum Kung crisis that was marked as a big turn of the Thai economy.

Viewers will also ponder on gender equality and diversity in “Gender Illumination” which shows that gender diversity isn’t limited to certain social class and the new generation should learn to be open minded and not fall into a trap of gender divide.
