Jorja Smith / Rose Rouge

The beloved jazz imprint Blue Note has just announced the release of Blue Note Re:imagined, a compilation of classic tracks revamped by an exciting array of jazz, soul and R&B artists. Among them is Brit Award-winning Jorja Smith, who’s putting her own flair on Rose Rouge,a cover of St Germain’s track from 2000’s Tourist. The track opens with Smith’s soaring vocalisation, then, after an anticlimactic pause, slides into sultry cosmic soul territory built on percussion and rippling bass. This is Smith like you’ve never heard her before.
