‘Real Ghosts’ hosts say sorry
NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Hosts of the Real Ghosts TV programme yesterday issued an apology at the Thao Suranari Monument in this northeastern province.
About 100 police were on hand at the site to offer them protection due to concerns that angry local people might try to harm them but there were no incidents.
The people of Korat, also known as Nakhon Ratchasima, expressed outrage at the Real Ghosts, or Chong Song Phee programme after one of the hosts claimed that Ya Mo’s adopted daughter was the mistress of her husband, who was a local governor during the 1820s.
Channel 8, which aired the programme, stopped broadcasting it on July 9 as a result of the controversy.
Many people believe that television and online shows on ghost-hunting and the supernatural should be subject to control by government agencies to prevent people being deceived by the content, according to a survey by the National Institute of Development Administration, or Nida Poll, released yesterday.
