There is still time to catch the “MAI x AKKEE: The Dynamical Series Of The Kitchen Scene Art Exhibition” that has now been extended until the end of July, at AKKEE Thai Delicacies & Tasting Counter, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi.

MAI x AKKEE is the second solo exhibition by 31-year-old artist Mai Intarakanchit who questions and interprets the word “Happiness” through food and beverages, after she was inspired by observing other customers at AKKEE, a restaurant in her neighbourhood.

“Happiness is a word that we often hear, but why can it be experienced only occasionally? Perhaps the definition of this word does not have a definite answer, but has a meaning that is easy to understand. It is the feeling, the state of mind that occurs according to the results of time, experience, place and group of people we share a moment with,” said the artist.

Mai has an opportunity to convey the process through a conceptual art style with the use of mixed media to study the chef’s unique cooking process. The kitchen in AKKEE restaurant uses no electric appliances except the rice cooker, which takes a prominent place. Every step uses elaborate work to get the right taste and appearance.

Mai believes cooking is an art form that combines knowledge and feeling from chefs before presentation to customers. And if the customer enjoys the delicious taste, then it is considered that the artist or chef has successfully created happiness.

“MAI x AKKEE: The Dynamical Series Of The Kitchen Scene Art Exhibition” runs until July 31 at AKKEE Thai Delicacies & Tasting Counter, Soi Chu Chat Anuson 4, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. For more information and reservations, call 086-106-6644.
