MUSIC & DANCE SoundBox Online concerts

July 24 and 26 at 7pm

The next two shows in the “SoundBox Online” series will be “Max Jenmana Live … Nowhere Nowhere It’s Just A Matter Of Spacing” on July 24 and “Twopee Southside Presents SouthSide Ambassador Virtual Live” on July 26. Presented by BEC-Tero, PM Center and Joox, the series of online live concerts promise to offer experience as close to attending a physical concert as possible. They will be live streamed in high definition via Joox app. However, only the Max Jenmana’s concert will also allow a limited number of fans to attend the show at CM Live Studio on Nuan Chan 56.

Pongsit’s online concert

After having performed live on his Facebook page to please his fans over the months, Thai rock singer and producer Pongsit Khampee will give his first virtual concert titled “Khampee Khid Thueng Concert” presented via the Joox app. It is said to be a two-hour full-scale show packed with favourite songs.

Fair to help farmers

The last week of “Thai Chuay Thai Kue Thai Tae @ Yim Pai Duay Kan” features a variety of food and products from the South of Thailand including Tubtim Siam pomelo, Sung Yod rice, grilled pork from Trang province, salted Indian salmon and Tub Lee steamed bun. EXHIBITION­S Korean art

The works portray Korean apricot flowers, beautiful landscapes, peacocks, and natural beauty created by Korean artist Ye Hyang, who has been living in Thailand for more than 20 years. Art of nature

“Crystal Walk” is an exhibition of more than 20 crystal formations found in the US, France, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Indonesia and India — estimated to be 30,000 to 200 million years in their creation. Some of the specimens on display are Gogottes, which were formed in the final stages of an ice age — between 30-50,000 years ago. They are collected by Robert McLeod, geologist and owner of Agata Gallery.

FILMS French animation and drama

Alliance Francaise is screening Yellowbird (2014), a French animation by Christian De Vita, which tells about a teeny tiny orphaned bird who finds himself leading a flock on their migration to Africa. It’s followed by Portrait Of A Lady On Fire, a French drama by Céline Sciamma, which tells about a female painter who is commission­ed to do the wedding portrait of a reluctant bride to be. The animation has English subtitles while the drama has both English and Thai subtitles.

A collaborat­ion by the United Nations in Thailand, the Thai mental health organisati­on Knowing Mind and the social change agency Love Frankie, the “Unknown Together” online campaign features a series of content, informatio­n and resources to support mental health of Thai communitie­s. There are also discussion­s via Facebook Live every Sunday from 2pm-4pm where practising psychiatri­sts and psychologi­sts will explore how Covid-19 has affected our mental health in our most essential relationsh­ips: to work, finances, studies, society and to one another.

CONTEST We love mom photos

The Ministry of Culture’s Department of Cultural Promotion is accepting entries for the “We Love Mom” photo contest open to interested members of the public. They are required to take photos of themselves and their mothers to show the love and bond between mother, child and family. Each photo should come with a descriptio­n narrating their feelings towards their mothers. It should not exceed 100 words and include a hashtag #ILoveMom. The top winner will receive a cash prize worth 10,000 baht, the second winner 5,000 baht and the third winner 3,000 baht. There are five honourable mention prizes worth 1,000 baht each.
